M A I S O N P R O U S T is situated in the heart of Richelieu, an historically important walled town deep in the Loire Valley’s national park. It is where the famous cardinal built his chateau, now demolished and created a small town along classical roman lines.

Built in 1815, the house’s generous proportions echo those of the Parisian townhouses of the same era but with an understated rural charm. Positioned in the centre of the village and adjacent to a small school, the house is within paces of one of the town’s two squares. Bells ring out at the nearby Sacre Coeur church, markets spring into life and the rhythm of the town very soon makes its mark.
